On the weekend, I had a long session taking photos of my most recent project (the Bicycle tube bag) and some more of my older work. I'll submit those photos over the next week or so.
Here's a link to an article I wrote a while back on photographing pottery but it applies to most 3D art. The article was aimed at making digital photography seem doable to anyone, using gear they would already have.
This how-to-take-great-photos-of-your-projects on ladyada's site has some great tips. It's on taking photos of circuit boards and electronic projects but applies just as well to 3D art stuff. I used these tips for fixing the aperture and adjusting the exposure to get a good looking value histogram, during this weekend's photo session. I was very pleased with the results.
